A little pep talk can make all the difference

You might not remember, but last year me and my dahlias didn't really see eye to eye. I never even posted a picture because they were so embarrassing. I would compare it to a flower getting a haircut from a flowbee.

This year I took a different approach, I brought in new dirt (manure included), and created them their own brick mote. I am pretty sure the thing that really made the biggest difference is I whispered in their tiny little ears that if they grew big and beautiful I would make sure those nasty little earwigs would find a new home this summer. Well sure enough they listened! Please see below for proof, these are in my very own garden, I did not have to run up to Manito and take impostor pictures (I'm not too prideful or anything). Not all the varieties have bloomed yet, so there might be more pictures later, if they are amazing enough.

A quick note: I have never grown peppers before, but I am amazed at how well they are doing. I am just not sure when to pick them, or how long they take to change to the other colors. Any tips?
I bought White Jack-o-lantern seeds just because I was curious and the pumpkin on the packet was pretty. Great advertising!

Great garden, Jessi! Dahlias are my favorite and I'm glad they cooperated for you this year!

Oh...I'm so jealous of your wonderful garden. I love white pumpkins!! As for the peppers, I think if you leave them on the vine they will start to change color and you can pick them at whatever stage/color you like the most!
